Session updates 21st March 2009

Alright guys, it's been a long time since anyone did any updates hasn't it? As much as I dislike blogger.com, due to bad experience in the past when I typed out insanely long entries, and when I hit the "Publish Post" button, I get an error and the entire entry disappears, but I'll try to do this update without too much cursing and swearing and hurting of animals.

23rd March 2009 - Con Amore Sports Day

Ok, firstly, would like to apologize for not going down to IMH to help @ 12.30. By the time I was done washing my car, it was 12.45. =x

Anyways, total of 9 residents from our ward went down for the sports day. We had 15 volunteers helping out (someone confirm the number for me please). The volunteers and residents had been split into groups by the time I had arrived, but I think they tried to make the groups pretty even.

The day kicked off with some telematches, could see that everyone was engrossed in the games (obviously since most of them were ignoring me). Our residents did have fun, a few of them kept walking around, just enjoying a different environment. No mood swings as far as I know.

The dance item was probably the highlight for a couple of them. I believe we've got a talented dancer in our ward? Hahaha. Should have seen his moves, seriously seems like a professional dancer yah !!

Of course, there was food, cakes and drinks. Not to mention prizes for everyone. A couple of our residents were tired out and stayed out of the games for the entire event, but they still walked around the central forum to take in the sights and sounds.

Entire thing lasted till about 5pm, then the bus came to fetch them back to IMH @ about 5.20pm.

Ok, there's hardly anything much to update since it was only 9 residents, and most of them were playing games and dancing most of the time. Perhaps those who had more personal interaction on that day could drop me a mail or update us how things are at the ward or with the residents.

And I'm sure someone at the ward missed our dear Alan alot. Hope he got to see Alan on saturday.

After that 10 of us went for dinner, a wonderful spread of seafood and satay and other delicious stuff. Been awhile since we had a normal after session dinner with this many people. And I'm sure you all had great alot of laughs at MacDonald's hor. Someone please share with me what was going on at the other end of the table? I totally could not hear loh.

And to those who took bus and MRT home after that, here's some food for thought.

It took me 30mins to get out of the carpark. Hahaha. There was a jam in the carpark, and by the time I got out it was 12midnight already. So it's not ALWAYS a blessing to have a car.

Mid year event

Ok, I believe we usually have our annual chalet/gathering around mid year? Last year it was in July at one of those Changi Bungalows. We're up for suggestions this year, and also a range of dates which you all feel would be suitable. Do let us know soon, since if we need to book a chalet, it'll have to be within this month or next, otherwise there'll likely be no more available ones by May (peak period and all).

Oh yes, and paintball. When are we going ah? Talk about it for so long, and still nobody organizes.

Apple Weekly
Emm .. ok, this one I think I need to wait for Alan to update. On my end got no juicy news.

Alright, that's it for now. If you all don't mind my random thoughts and concepts, I might put them up for all to read. But don't blame me if it's boring yah !! =x
